Living with a phobia can be exhausting and isolating. Whether you find yourself avoiding certain places, planning your life around your fears, or feeling overwhelmed by anxiety in situations others seem to handle with ease, you are not alone, and you don't have to keep living this way.
As a professional hypnotherapist, registered with the National Hypnotherapy Society I have helped many clients across Norfolk, Suffolk, and beyond to overcome their phobias and reclaim their lives. Hypnotherapy is a highly effective, evidence-informed approach to phobia treatment ... and the results can be life-changing.

Fears and phobias exist in the subconscious mind and are learned responses. This means that they can be unlearned. Hypnotherapy works by communicating directly with the subconscious mind, gently changing the way you feel and react to the trigger of your phobia at its root cause, rather than simply managing the symptoms.
This is why hypnotherapy is so effective, where other approaches may have fallen short. You don't need to white-knuckle your way through exposure, or spend years in talk therapy - most of my clients see significant results within just 3 to 6 sessions.
Imagine being free of your phobia. You won't need to plan your life around avoiding certain situations. You'll feel relaxed and confident in circumstances that once filled you with dread. You'll be able to say yes to opportunities, be spontaneous, and engage in unplanned activities without fear. You'll feel safer, calmer, and happier in the world, and those around you will notice the difference too.

There are two main categories of phobia:
Specific phobias revolve around a particular trigger: a situation, place, object, animal, or activity. They generally begin in childhood and, while some people find their phobia becomes less pronounced over time, for others, symptoms can intensify with age.
Common specific phobias include:
Complex phobias are not linked to one specific trigger. They typically develop in adulthood and are often connected to deeper anxiety around a particular situation or circumstance. The most common complex phobias are social phobia (fear of social situations) and agoraphobia (fear of situations where escape might be difficult).
Complex phobias can feel more entrenched, but they respond well to hypnotherapy, particularly when sessions are tailored to your individual experience.
Every client is different, which is why every hypnotherapy session I deliver is tailor-made for you. I work collaboratively with you to understand your goals, explore the root of your phobia, and develop a bespoke treatment plan designed around your individual needs and circumstances.
Following your initial consultation, most clients require between 3 and 6 sessions to achieve lasting results - athough this will vary depending on the nature and history of your phobia.
Between sessions, I'll provide you with a personal audio recording and teach you self-hypnosis techniques you can practise at home. These are a powerful way to reinforce your progress and keep your momentum going between appointments.
